WORLD-CLASS ACADEMIC COPY-EDITING FROM AN OXBRIDGE-EDUCATED PHILOSOPHER

L1001017.jpeg

I am Louise Rebecca Chapman, the Founder and CEO of Lex Academic and Doctoral Scholar in Philosophy at the University of Cambridge. Here, I am working on philosophical approaches to moral exemplarity, beginning with Plato but focusing on Kant. This work is supervised by Angela Breitenbach, Richard Holton, and Rae Langton. Between 2021-22, I shall be writing up my doctoral thesis while leading Lex Academic, my professional author services startup. We specialise in philosophy proofreading and book indexing.

My academic research has focused on moral psychology in the history of philosophy. I graduated top of my class in Philosophy at King's College London in 2016, writing my research dissertation on Platonic moral psychology. I was awarded the Keeling Scholarship at UCL to pursue my ancient interests further on their two-year MPhil Stud. However, since my goal was to specialise (sooner rather than later) on Kant, I instead chose to pursue a year-long Master's in Ancient Greek Philosophy at the University of Oxford. There, I worked with Professor Terry Irwin on Socratic moral psychology (awarded Distinction).

Since 2018, I have been awarded over $250k in doctoral scholarships. I elected to take up the Boustany Cambridge Pembroke Scholarship in Philosophy at Pembroke College, Cambridge. My research on moral exemplarity is fully funded by Pembroke College, the Cambridge Trust, and the Boustany Foundation of Monaco. I shall be interning in Monaco in the summer of 2021. In the meantime, I have published on Kant's moral philosophy and moral hydraulics in Plato.
